Tanzer 88 “Pale yellow-gold with a delicate bead. Pear, peach, minerals and honey on the nose, with a kiss of lemon. Light-bodied citrus and orchard fruit flavors are clean and fresh, with a subtle overlay of spices adding interest. Fills in with air and finishes soft, with good cling.”

Parker 88 “The NV Brut Excellence opens with bold, racy aromas that lead to an exuberant expression of fruit. This medium-bodied Champagne comes across as somewhat wild and unrestrained, yet there is also an intriguing quality that is hard to fully describe. Most of the wine’s appeal is in its up-front fruit, as the intensity trails off a bit on the mid-palate. Structurally the wine is quite finessed, yet there are some awkward metallic notes that detract from the balance. The Excellence is 45% Pinot Noir, 42% Chardonnay and 13% Pinot Meunier, almost all of which is Grand Cru.”

WS 89 “Peach and berry flavors get support from a firm structure. A grapefruit accent adds interest and this stays crisp on the finish. Drink now through 2011.”
