Parker 93 “Still in barrel, the 2005 Hermitage is superb. It will be interesting to see in a decade or so which wine turns out better, 2005 or 2006. The 2005 has less charm, complexity, and nuance than 2006, but more tannin, body, and pure power. Still somewhat monolithic, it does not exhibit the finesse of the 2006, but it is a big, blockbuster, backstrapping wine that will require a lot of time in the bottle. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2035.”
