$32.99
Tanzer 92 “Bright medium yellow. Complex aromas of peach, minerals, iodine, mace, truffle and vanillin oak. Rich, lush and tactile, with a strong nutty oak component supported by stone fruits and an impression of mineral extract. Broad chardonnay with a distinctly light touch. Finishes sweet but firm.”
Parker 93 “The 2006 Alta Chardonnay was sourced from the high altitude Adrianna Vineyard. The wine was fermented with native yeasts, then barrel-fermented and aged for 16 months in 50% new French oak. The nose reveals pain grille, baking spices, floral notes, baked apple, and tropical fruits. This leads to a layered wine with a creamy texture, ripe, complex flavors, and a lengthy finish. This well-balanced effort will provide pleasure for at least 3-4 years.”
Malbec Mendoza Alta 2005

Tanzer 93 “Bright ruby-red. Aromas and flavors of black raspberry, coffee, smoke and red licorice, with a slightly high-toned briary quality. Then sweet, dense and superripe, with a creamy, seamless texture and impressive depth to the middle palate. Liqueur-like yet not at all heavy. Finishes with substantial chewy tannins and noteworthy length.”

Parker 98 “The flagship wines begin with the purple/black-colored 2005 Nicolas Catena Zapata, a blend of 78% Cabernet Sauvignon and 22% Malbec. The fruit was sourced from four of the estate’s finest high-elevation vineyards, and aged for 24 months in 100% new French oak. The brooding bouquet delivers pain grille, mineral, violet, scorched earth, pepper, espresso, black cherry, and black raspberry aromas leading to a dense, opulent wine with gobs of savory fruit, ripe tannins, terrific concentration, and a 60-second finish. Allow it 6-8 years in the cellar to reveal its full potential and enjoy it from 2015 to 2030″.
