Ok, I don’t want to brag but I had the opportunity to taste an amazing lineup of bubbles paired with phenomenal food from Rathbun’s. In order of how we tasted, here are the wines we had.
Chandon Etoile Rose
Moet & Chandon Vintage Blanc 2003
Dom Ruinart Blanc 1998
Krug Grande Cuvee M/V
Clicquot Vintage Rose 2002
Ruinart Rose N/V
La Grande Dame Rose 1998
Dom Perignon Rose 1998
I did not know price throughout the tasting and the wine that seriously blew me away was the Dom Ruinart Blanc 1998. It might be close to the best thing I have ever tasted.
There is an incredible deal on this price right now and you should get it even if you are saving it for the holidays, although I recommend popping it open sooner than that.

WE 95 “Rich, toasty, mature, this important Champagne is all those things. It’s certainly mature for a 1998 vintage, which means it would be delicious to drink now. But the ripeness, allied to the serious acidity and wood structure, do suggest that it’s likely to age more.”
