This is the second or third release of this wine (we didn’t get any 2009 in the state) but without a doubt, this cuvee is even better than 2008 (which got 90 points from Wine Enthusiast) and is an Incredible value. Peter Roseback always make this cuvee 50% Pinot Noir with his primary source being the famed Resonance vineyard. He adds Cabernet Sauvignon from his Baby Poux vineyard, grapes from his Old Vine Zinfandel vineyards and small amounts of Merlot and Cabernet Franc to round out the blend. The result is an outstanding bottle of wine for only $17.99!

In the past, we’ve sold over 10 cases of this wine during its first release and ran out of inventory long before anyone was done drinking it.

Tanzer 91 “From basalt-rich soil that’s older than Slide Mountain Vineyard. Good full bright ruby. Very ripe aromas of black cherry and dark chocolate. Sweet broad and chocolatey on the palate; a bit less perfumed and sappy than the Slide Mountain Vineyard example and perhaps a little more high-toned. Parker 91+ “The 2007 Reserva is a blend of 70% Tempranillo with the balance Garnacha, Mazuelo, and Graciano aged initially for 6 months in wood vats followed by 24 months in 60% new French and American oak prior to bottling without filtration. It displays classic Rioja aromas of cedar, leather, mineral, a hint of balsamic, and assorted black fruits. Layered on the palate but slightly austere at present, it has the structure to evolve for another 4-6 years at which point it is likely to have filled out thus meriting a higher rating. Drink this impressive Rioja from 2015 to 2027.”
