Launched in 2009, the Mutiny Fleet showcases unusual beer styles in excess of 8% ABV. These are Heavy Seas’ biggest and boldest beers. Many are vintage dated and designed for aging like a fine wine. All are bottle conditioned and some unfiltered. Released in very small batches in only 22 oz. bottles and very limited draft.

Heavy Seas brewing does a yearly competition searching for the best homebrewers. The winner of the competition collaborates with the Heavy Seas brewers to create the next vintage of Letter of Marque. The 2011 Letter of Marque (pronounced ‘mark’) is an 8%ABV Belgian Dubbel. This copper hued Dubbel has a floral aroma and smooth sweet flavor. Nicely carbonated with a slightly spicy finish from the Belgian yeast, it is brewed with 6 kinds of grain and 3 noble hops.
