I was tasted on these wines last week and was struck by their quality and incredible value (and this was before seeing any of the ratings)! These wines are wonderful expressions of 2007, 2008 and 2009 Chablis with powerful minerality, incredibly ripe fruit and excellent aging potential. The style is it’s own – and well worth a look. For those of you who wanted to score some Chablis in a great vintage and have been looking for a phenomenal deal – look no further.

The winery got their very special name in 1938 by being the first in the new Chablis appellation to designate their winery name. Along with making fantastic wines that they don’t charge an arm and a leg for – they also have a monopole in Grenouille! Take note: the Burghound agrees wholeheartedly with me.

An usual offering – the St Bris appellation is Sauvignon blanc made just outside the Chablis AOC. It is so delicious, in fact, that the French decided to give it AOC status in 1974. It is exactly what you would expect: laced with minerality, beautifully rich and round, and an amazing value. It’s dangerously delicious.
