All of my friends and most of our customers here at Ansley Wine Merchants know that the Loire Valley is my favorite region. I get super excited when I have the opportunity to taste something new from my beloved region. Several months ago at a tasting dominated by wines from the Rhone, two gems from Chinon (a subregion within the Loire Valley) appeared. A white and red that made my day. Perfect representations of the Loire.
I highly recommend these wines to everybody – whether you have never tasted the Loire or you are a Loire nut, like myself.
I am taking home several bottles and we have the only cases in the city so if you are interested in trying these wines, you better hurry! These are probably not going to last the weekend.

This Cabernet Franc is exquisite and this is a perfect example of what is should taste like. Very dark elements that linger for a perfect amount of time. Strong tannins that don’t take over the wine. Just right.

Les Chanteaux 2008

Chenin Blanc that is ripe and full-bodied. Because of the tight minerality, this wine is playful in the mouth. Taste like early spring – fresh and floral.
