Cuvelier Los Andes
Coleccion 2007
$19.99
Parker 91 “From the Cuvelier family (proprietors of Chateau Leoville Poyferre in Bordeaux) Los Andes’ 2007 Collecion is a blend of 60% Malbec, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 10% Merlot. Sixty percent of the wine was aged in French oak for 12 months. A glass-coating opaque purple, it displays a perfumed nose of cedar, cinnamon, violets, black cherry, and black currant. Full-bodied, smooth-textured, and plush on the palate, it has layers of savory fruit, some underlying tannin, and excellent balance. This lengthy effort will benefit from 2-3 years of additional cellaring and offer prime drinking from 2012 to 2019″.
Tanzer 91 “Bright, saturated medium ruby. Very ripe aromas of crushed berries, mocha and dark chocolate, with a whiff of animal fur. Lush, sweet and full, with impressive breadth to the flavors of currant, mocha, leather and chocolate. Very sexy and approachable wine with a generous, tactile texture and impressive persistence. The ripe dusting of tannins will not get in the way of enjoying this knockout now”.
Grand Vin 2007
$32.99
Parker 92 + “The 2007 Gran Vin is a blend of 73% Malbec, 19% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 8% Merlot aged in French oak for 18 months. Saturated purple in color, it offers up an alluring bouquet of smoke, incense, Asian spices, and black cherry, with a hint of chocolate in the background. Full-bodied, layered, and opulent, the wine has superb depth of flavor, excellent integration of oak, tannin, and acidity, and a lengthy, fruit-filled finish. Give it 4-6 years more bottle age and drink it from 2014 to 2027″.
Grand Malbec 2007
