Tanzer 88 “Bright ruby. Lively aromas of red berries, cherry, cracked pepper and dried herbs. Spicy and precise on the palate, offering tangy red fruit flavors. Impressively nervy for an Australian red at this price; most are simple and jammy, at best.”
Parker 88 “The 2009 The Red One is an eclectic blend of 56% Cabernet Sauvignon, 31% Shiraz, 5% Barbera, 5% Trincadeira, 2% Tempranillo and 1% Nebbiolo. Possessing a deep garnet-purple color, this wine gives classic cabernet notes of cassis and graphite with some black cherry, cinnamon, anise and tar. Medium-high acid and a medium to firm level of chewy tannins support the good concentration of earthy fruit, with a good measure of spice coming though in the long finish. There’s a lot of character here at a very modest price! Drink it now to 2014. ”
